Purpose
The metal protection elements for racks are designed to prevent damage to the lower parts of warehouse structures. These are the parts most exposed to impacts from forklifts, stacker trucks, handcarts and electric trolleys. At the same time, these parts are supporting and they have a high load. If damaged, the rack may collapse, which will lead to damage to property, as well as the need for expensive works to restore warehouse structures.

Description
Rack protection is particularly necessary for large-scale logistics centres that use warehouse equipment. If a forklift collides with the bottom of the rack, it is will be deformed highly likely. This will cause extremely uneven distribution of the load on the support structures, which will eventually cause them to collapse and cause damage to the assets located on them.
In order to prevent this from happening, you must take care to ensure adequate protection of the supporting structures from collision with equipment. For this purpose, special protective elements are used. They can be angular, frontal and end. These varieties differ from each other, primarily by the installation location.
The first category is installed in the corners of racking structures and to protect vertical beams on the two outer sides. The front protection is installed on the intermediate supports and the end protection is placed on the outer edges of the rack, which are only used as load-bearing supports and are not used directly for loading goods through them.
To ensure maximum protection, the bumpers are made of S355MC impact resistant steel or similar. A sheet metal of 5mm thick is used for the corner and frontal elements; in the case of the frontal protection, the structure is made with profile tubes.
These elements are powder-coated to prevent the effects of corrosion.
By default, they are
painted yellow (RAL 1004), which additionally attracts the attention of the staff operating the equipment and reduces the likelihood of a collision. The bumpers are also available in other colours on request. You can fasten them to the floor using special anchor bolts, which ensure a reliable connection.
Thus, the use of metal bumpers prevents damage to racks, thereby reducing the likelihood of damage to goods or raw materials stored in the warehouse. This prolongs the service life of structures. It should be noted that the protective elements are compatible with all types of racks, i.e. archive, pallet, shelf racks and others.
