Purpose
They resemble gravity flow racks, but they work on the LIFO principle (last-in, first-out). Pallets are installed here on special trolleys that move along the guides at a slight angle. Each new pallet being loaded pushes the ones already in the channel, as they are pressed to the unloading area by gravity.

Description
Push-Back racks to some extent resemble gravity flow racks, which work on the LIFO principle (last-in, first-out). The pallets are not placed on a roller track, but on trolley cassettes that travel on built-in wheels at a slight angle on the guides. Each new pallet being loaded pushes the ones already in the channel, as they are pressed to the unloading area by gravity.
After removing the outermost pallet, the remaining cargo in the channel smoothly moves to the base position. Given the resistance that the forklift has to overcome when installing the pallet, the rack depth can be only six pallet spaces. However, Push-Back racks can significantly reduce processing time, as warehouse equipment does not have to drive into the rack, as with Drive-In systems.
Furthermore, Push-Back racks do not impose any restrictions on the loading equipment: without having to drive into the racking channel, there is no need for narrow cabins, which undoubtedly reduce the comfort and productivity of operators.
Push-Back racks are a relatively inexpensive and productive solution when storing goods according to the LIFO principle is important. As a rule, these are finished products without a limited shelf life, shipped in large lots.
