Purpose
The three-dimensional shuttle racking system allows not only move pallets forward or backward within the tier, but also work on the rack in a fully automatic mode. The shuttle has sensors that measure the distance to the nearest obstacle. These, along with specially developed software, allow an automatic movement of trolley. Like gravity-flow racks, these systems are designed to store a single item in a channel.
Virtually unlimited channel lengths and the ability to work fully on FIFO and LIFO principles make shuttle racks one of the most advanced developments in logistics over the last 15 years. They perfectly combine capacity and functionality.

Description
Shuttle racks are visually similar to drive-in system. The difference is the more complex design of the support profile. This is necessary to ensure the fully autonomous movement of an automated trolley (shuttle). As with gravity racks, warehouse equipment (forklifts and stacking cranes) can stay out of the rack, which speeds up works and increases safety.
They work as follows: the operator places the shuttle in the channel into which the goods are to be loaded, and then places the pallets on this mechanism. While the shuttle automatically moves the pallet deep into the rack, the operator goes for the next pallet. The speed of the shuttle is up to 1 m/s. This is enough to ensure the right time for cargo movement, high turnover speed and increase the degree of automation of the storage area.
The shuttle racks provides FIFO operation (the first loaded pallet is unloaded first) as well as LIFO operation (the last loaded pallet is unloaded first). This provides greater flexibility of use and makes it possible to reconfigure the system in the future. This also makes it possible to use these systems in warehouses for goods with a limited shelf life. If it is necessary to increase the turnover of the warehouse, simply add a shuttle unit. This will speed up handling of goods considerably.
The self-propelled trolley is equipped with lithium-ion batteries, the capacity of which is enough for intensive work for four hours. Once the energy in the accumulating unit is depleted, the battery can be quickly replaced without the use of additional devices.
The shuttle can automatically move all cargo within the line to a given side of the rack. Such operations can be performed at night, between shifts or during technological breaks. This allows you further increase the speed and throughput of the warehouse complex.
