Purpose
This category of forklift can help you to carry out loading and unloading operations without the use of pallet jacks, in one step. These machines have a low overall height and a free stroke of the carriage, allowing you to work inside wagons and containers.

Description
The inside height of 20/40 foot containers is only 2390 mm, and the door opening is 2280 mm. Standard forklifts are not suitable for working inside containers because their mast is not free-running when the forks are raised without increasing the overall height of the equipment. This makes working in such a space extremely difficult, and even impossible if the goods are stacked in two tiers. On the other hand, forklifts for wagons and containers are equipped with a removable stopping grid. This enables the forks to be raised to 2200 mm, while the mast stays in place.
Severe weather conditions that sometimes accompany loading operations do not pose a problem for this equipment. The fact is that the forklifts are designed specifically for high performance at low or high temperatures, as well as for contact with water, mud and snow.
Additional options are available to enhance the functionality. For instance, if you need the same forklift to lift pallets over 2 metres high, it makes sense to fit it with a 3-section mast. Another useful function when working inside containers or wagons is the side shift; this is a function of changing the position relative to the centre in the horizontal plane using the joystick located on the control panel. This option avoids unnecessary reverse manoeuvring in case the initial trajectory is not the optimal one for picking up the pallet.
Special forklifts can speed up work processes by refusing to use a pallet jack.
