Containers for bakery, delicatessen and confectionery products are available in a wide range of modifications. For example, confectionery and delicatessen containers made from the thermoplastic polymer ethylene (PE) have a smooth, continuous surface on the bottom and side walls. This is dictated by the specifics of the products, as confectionery and delicatessen are cooled to room temperature before transportation.
Containers for bakery products have a perforated surface on the side walls and bottom. This allows for air circulation and is essential when transporting and storing such products, as the temperature of fresh bread can encourage condensation and therefore natural air circulation is essential.
The containers are available in a variety of colours and sizes: from a small confectionery container measuring 600x400x95 mm (10 kg capacity) to a 600x400x220 mm bakery container (15 kg capacity). Lids are available in natural (white) and grey for 600x400 mm containers.
The material of the containers is polyethylene, the world's most common plastic. It is characterised by high rigidity, which makes it possible to stack containers. The material is wear-resistant, which means that the containers can be used on automated lines. These containers are a commonly used returnable container that provides excellent product protection. In addition, the containers are equipped with handles, which facilitates loading and unloading from the vehicle.
