Self-propelled electric trolley

Description

The electric trolley combines the mobility of a conventional hydraulic pallet jack with the efficiency of a forklift. This enables fast cargo transfer inside warehouses with narrow aisles. The main advantage is the absence of movement-related physical stress on the operator.

Some models can speed up to 14 km/h, which is slightly less than the speed of forklifts. The compact dimensions provide good manoeuvrability in small aisles between racks. These electric trolleys are equipped with a platform for the operator, giving better control of the work process as well as multiply accelerating movement of pallets as compared to pedestrian analogues. The lifting height of the forks is 115 mm or more; this is more than sufficient for transporting pallet goods.

Usually, electric trolleys are equipped with an AC motor, which provides more economic use. Depending on the model and type of battery, the operating time without recharging can reach up to 8 hours. They do not require a wide working aisle and are therefore suitable for use in retail outlets with racking systems. Electric trolleys have compact dimensions, which not only increases mobility but also additionally saves working space during a stoppage. You should also pay attention to the environmental friendliness of this type of equipment. Due to electric traction, there are no harmful exhaust emissions at all, making it possible to operate the trolleys intensively indoors.

Electric trolleys can be equipped with a lead-acid, gel or lithium-ion battery. The latter option is the most efficient because it offers approximately 30% higher capacity than other battery types. This enables a non-stop, 24/7 operation. Removable energy accumulators are generally used; this makes it possible to replace a depleted battery with a new one at any time. A full charge takes only 2.5 hours; you can charge them from a conventional 220V socket. The design service life of such a battery is usually 15-20 years.

Lead-acid analogues are considered the most difficult to use among all varieties. This is due to the design features. Staff must constantly monitor the density and level of liquid (a mixture of electrolyte and water) in cells. At the same time, affordable prices and a wide choice of models often attract companies that do not have a high budget. This does not apply, for example, to pharmaceutical and food organizations: such batteries cannot be used on them due to the presence of lead.

Gel batteries are almost completely free of harmful and toxic substances. This makes them compliant with sanitary standards. These accumulators are also easier to maintain than their acid analogues. For instance, there is no need for intrusive monitoring of the work process. At the same time, the service life is still inferior to that of lithium-ion batteries and is about 8 years.
