Purpose
Many logistics professionals consider diesel forklifts more versatile than electric ones. You can use them in any conditions (even the most severe); they have greater power and capacity. Other advantages include the fact that they do not need to be connected to the electricity supply at all times, meaning that they can work without interruption outside the warehouse. The diesel engines are highly practical in terms of continuous operation — simply fill up with fuel from the can if required. They are highly productive: capacities of up to 10 tonnes or more, while their electric analogues stop at about 5 tonnes.

Description
Diesel forklifts are designed for intensive operation and have a load capacity of 1.5 tonnes or more; more powerful models can transport cargo weighing up to 10 tonnes. The diesel engines are quite economical: with a load capacity of up to 2 tonnes, 2-2.5 litres of fuel will be consumed in one hour of intensive operation. Consumption of more powerful models starts at 4 litres.
With proper preparation, diesel forklifts are ideally suited to virtually all temperatures (-35 °C to +45°C) and weather conditions. Due to its stable torque, the engine is less likely to stop spontaneously in freezing temperatures than a petrol internal combustion engine.
Diesel forklifts have high operating speeds — up to 20 km/h. They are often fitted with pneumatic tyres to enhance mobility in snow-covered and ice-covered areas.
Compared to electric forklifts, diesel ones are more practical for use in larger areas: they can be used for longer without long recharging intervals; they are faster and are capable of carrying more load. However, you can use them only in open areas where exhaust gases have a minimal impact on human health, so an electric model is better for permanent indoor work.
Diesel forklifts require regular maintenance, which, however, does not pose unsolvable problems. Due to the widespread use of this type of equipment, there are quite a lot of organizations and private technicians, so you can easily find a partner for technical support.
