Purpose
The Pick-to-light sorting system is designed to process and prepare orders semi-automatically. The terminals are equipped with display and confirmation button, which minimizes the possibility of error. The number of units to be selected is displayed on the device screen, and a flashing button indicates the position from which the selection is to be made.

Description
The Pick-to-light systems are a comprehensive solution for optimizing warehouse accounting. Intuitive and user-friendly equipment, which simplifies order picking without additional paperwork.
Improving the efficiency of warehouse accounting implies the introduction of a barcode system. Special data collection terminals (DCTs) are used for scanning; further operations on order picking are carried out using the Pick-to-Light system. The required item is illuminated with a lamp and the quantity to be picked is shown on an indicator. After removing the goods from the storage area, the operator only needs to press the confirmation button. This saves a lot of time for the required item searching.
A more affordable variant of implementing the idea is the Pick-to-Voice system. Instead of multiple lamps and confirmation buttons, the operator uses a headset, through which a voice assistant tells where the goods are, in what quantity, and where to take the collected order. An order picker also confirms the execution of operations by voice.
These systems for goods manual handling optimisation help speed up picking and placing of goods as well as inventory records and physical inventory taking. In addition, by automatically identifying the type of goods and integrating with the warehouse management system, errors (and because of this financial and reputational loss) are minimised.
