The special shape of the column prevents bulky objects from entering the container. The round shape of the slot is ideal for round objects such as glass waste. In the case of glass, a convenient additional option is available, i.e. sound insulation to reduce noise. The system takes up minimal space, and due to the elegant appearance of the columns, it will fit into any infrastructure style.

The design has been developed with safety in mind: the concrete bowl is equipped with a safety mechanism, which automatically closes and locks access to the shaft by means of springs and valves when the inner container is removed. This protection withstands a load of 150 kg, thereby preventing people from falling inside it unintentionally.

The process of emptying the container usually takes 2-3 minutes and one person can make it. This work does not require any effort; even senior citizens can cope with it. Given that the need to empty such systems is also less frequent (compared to the classic 1100 l bins), it is logical that the maintenance of SULO underground bins will save substantial amounts of money for waste removing companies and ultimately for dwellers.

Unlike conventional plastic or galvanised bins, the service life of underground systems is much longer due to the containers being in an enclosed space. In addition, the robust structure of a waste receiver has anti-vandal properties that were developed by German engineers. It is worth noting, however, that maintenance of the underground system requires machinery with a special manipulator.

It can be supplemented with a multitude of options based on customer needs: differently shaped hatches for certain types of waste, a foot pedal, fill level measurement using sensors, magnetic card access, etc. Various print options are also available for space decoration. A rubber cover can be fitted to avoid noise from falling objects or paving stones to integrate inconspicuously into the streetscape. With a customer order, it is possible to change the width of the slots and their capacity.
