Underground systems allow more waste to be collected in a smaller area, making the space around it more attractive and preventing homeless persons or animals from carrying waste. One system replaces five standard bins for 1100 litres. This makes it possible to use the adjacent territory more efficiently or save money by emptying containers more rarely.

Description
Underground (buried) SULO ICEBERG systems are fundamentally different from conventional waste bins, first of all, by their complete tightness. This method of waste collection blocks dirt and odours, water ingress, pest proliferation and other nuisance that are usually unavoidable in the case of open bins.
Iceberg Max1 series is distinguished by column model. The minimalistic design of Minimax columns is an example of the concept of modern waste collection in dynamically developing megacities. Minimax keeps obstructed places clean and tidy with the underground systems of Iceberg series. Like the city of the future, Minimax grows modularly with the requirements. If more than one slot is required, the width of the slot systems can be adjusted as required. Thanks to a heavy flap and a double-walled drum, Minimax allows to use premium equipment in all sizes.
They are characterized by a modern design and made of high-quality stainless steel that can be powder-coated in any colour, depending on preference. Improved material and a variation of sizes will help to achieve make all areas perfectly clean and tidy, an elegant appearance of the columns is suitable for arranging of historical places where a fair landscape around is required.
Frequent guests of standard open waste bins, such as homeless people, animals and birds, further aggravate an already unpleasant environment. Underground systems completely shut off access to waste even for small rodents.
Underground systems for municipal solid waste are very comfortable to use, because the height of receivers is only 60-70 cm. Consequently, even people with reduced capabilities will find it convenient to throw waste into the column. This is a very important social function, as not many people in Ukraine care about this group.
The installation of just one 5 m³ underground system can replace 20 containers for 240 litres, 40 containers for 120 litres or 5 containers for 1,100 litres. This opens up amazing creative freedom for architects and landscapers, while residents gain space, beautiful yards, hygiene and safety.
The system consists of three main components: a concrete bowl (shaft), an inner container, and a receiver (column).
The concrete bowl is made of high-strength concrete (C45/55). It is protected from moisture. A version with anti-flooding protection is available for areas with high groundwater levels. To ensure maximum operational safety of underground systems, the concrete bowl is equipped with a safety mechanism, which automatically closes and locks access to the shaft by means of springs and valves when the inner container is removed. This protection withstands a load of 150 kg, thereby preventing people from falling inside it unintentionally.
The inner container, the receiver, and the pedestrian platform that covers the shaft are one single module. The container is available in three options: 3, 4 or 5 cubic meters. It is made of galvanized steel, has flaps on the bottom that open at 90 degrees when the hook above the waste collection truck is activated.
The platform that connects the container and the receiver is made of corrugated galvanised steel and can be mounted externally or hidden, flush with the ground.
