Purpose
A multi-storey structure based on Medium shelf racking (SI 50) is a rational solution for storing medium-sized cargo, mainly in boxes or plastic crates. More massive profiles of struts and cross beams allow you to use longer shelves, which in turn optimizes the cost of the structure.
A mezzanine based on shelf racking is a versatile system. You can easily retrofit, upgrade or sell it if necessary.

Description
A mezzanine based on Medium shelf racking, with a strut width of 50 mm, is the optimal solution for organizing cargo storage in boxes and crates. The traverse profile from 40x40 to 80x40 allows you to use a shelf length of up to 2 200 mm. It not only offers greater flexibility in the placement of large-sized boxes but also significantly optimises the cost of racks per sq.m of storage utilisation.
The most common types of shelves are chipboard or OSB but galvanised set panels can also be used. To prevent the timber sheets from sagging under point loads, there are cross-braces. Their number is determined depending on the dimensions of the shelf and the required load.
As with most warehouse racks, the perforation of the strut is made along the entire length at a pitch of 50 mm, which allows for quick installation or adjusting the position of the shelves during operation.
Loading gates are installed in the first or second zones to deliver cargo to the upper storeys of the mezzanine. They serve as an extension to the handrail and provide total safety for staff when not in use. During loading operations, they provide access for placing a pallet. There is an advanced version of the loading gate that completely prevents staff from inadvertently falling out of height. This tilt-and-turn model is always in the closed position, either on the loading side or on the mezzanine side.
Besides, you can raise and lower cargo with hydraulic lifts or conveyors. Depending on the space, configuration and work intensity of each project, you should evaluate the feasibility of such systems individually.
The floorboard is available in two versions: lattice metal or solid made of 30-38 mm MDF panels. Regardless of the coating, the bearing capacity of the floor reaches 350-500 kg/ sq.m.
Each of the variants described above has advantages and disadvantages. A metal board is more heat-resistant and admits light through from the upper storeys to the floor. The disadvantage of this board is that it is less comfortable for picking trolleys to move through the cellular structure and that rubbish or even small items can fall to the bottom tier. A solid wooden board is a more suitable option for storage trolleys, but special impregnation and in some cases more complex approvals from a fire department will be required to ensure fire safety.
Mezzanine lighting can be made according to the customer's wishes regarding the amount of light, it can be switched on for entire storeys or rows, work continuously or be activated by motion sensors.
